This is a very difficult time in education funding throughout the country.  Our district should continue to live within the constraints of inadequate state funding while providing the best education for our children.  Like American families, the district needs to constantly prioritize its financial needs against its available resources.

Our students should be using curriculum in the classroom that encourages inquiry and growth. Our teachers need to be given the professional development opportunities to fully implement classroom curriculum.

Parent Involvement

I would like to see more parental and community involvement in our schools.  I would also like to see more transparency in the administrative decision making process.  I believe if the parents of our school district feel that their concerns are heard and honored, a respectful and productive dialog between the school board, administrators, teachers, and parents will ensue. The end result of this dialog is better communication between the parties that act as education decision makers for our children.

Athletics/Co-op Sports

Co-op sports can be a good solution for our school if we are able to offer additional sports that our children show interest in playing.  However, these opportunities should not sacrifice playing time for overall team performance.
